Commercial air conditioning installations are complex jobs that require a lot of skill, knowledge, and expertise in this field. At Air-rite Solutions, we provide high-quality commercial HVAC installation services to our clients right across South East Queensland.

Over the past 35 years, Air-rite Solutions has serviced a wide range of commercial and industrial spaces – from schools to libraries, office blocks to factories. Our experienced team members are equipped with the capability to install commercial air conditioning systems across a variety of different buildings. Here is everything you need to know about commercial air conditioning installations.

How Do Commercial HVAC Systems Work?

At its most basic level, large-scale commercial HVAC systems operate in the same way as a residential unit.

The cooling cycle is largely the same, just on a much bigger scale. These systems typically include a compressor that compresses refrigerant, which then has hot outside air passed through. This air is then transferred to the appropriate room or space in the building, where filters restrict any contaminants from exiting the vents.

Different Types of Commercial Air Conditioning Systems

There are several different types of commercial air conditioning systems – each requiring their own installation requirements. Air-rite Solutions will work with the builders and/or building owner to discuss which type of system is best for that particular space.

Single Split Systems

A single split HVAC system has a single compressor, evaporator coil, furnace, and refrigerant. It is split between one indoor unit and one outdoor unit and is usually the type of system installed in residential buildings. Single split systems can work for small, singular offices, shops, cafes, and server rooms.

Multi Split Systems

A multi split HVAC system has several indoor units connected to the one outdoor unit. These types of systems are ideal for larger commercial properties that require the air to be transferred to multiple different rooms.

Commercial Ducted Systems

Large-scale commercial ducted systems are designed to service a significant amount of space, while allowing the air temperature to be individually controlled across different rooms. These systems are the choice for large office buildings, factories, schools, and libraries.

Other Commercial Air Conditioning Installation Factors

When it comes time to install a new commercial air conditioning system, our team will account for a variety of different factors. These include:

  • The size of the system and how much space is available
  • Whether the property has already been built, and if the system fit within the existing space
  • If the property is in the process of being built, how our team will work with the builders to implement the system
  • Whether or not the ductwork and ventilation fit in with the building’s design
  • The most cost-effective way to install the system
  • The most energy efficient way to install the system?

Above all else, we aim to communicate closely with the building’s manager or developer to determine the most unintrusive way to conduct the installation. While we are committed to completing the job to the highest standard, we also aim to minimise any disruption to the general workflow of the commercial space. This may mean that we work after hours or during the weekend, so that the building’s occupants can continue about their day-to-day work in peace.
